About Us

I was born in a log home that my dad and uncle built with logs
they cut and hewed by hand the old-fashioned way. When I
retired (early) in 1995, I began building and selling log homes and doing restoration work on older log
homes.. I've had the good fortune to work with different companies during these
years. I've been able to see what does and does not work in a log home. The
right wood species and building techniques ensure that your log home will be
enjoyed by your children and grandchildren many years from now. I spent about 10 years with Heritage Log Homes before the economy forced them to close their doors in September 2010. During those years my log home business became a family business with my son, Marty Davis joining me as a log home builder and my daughter LaVonne Pinkston joining me in sales. After Heritage closed their doors, we interviewed many log home companies. We are proud to announce our representation of Katahdin Cedar Log Homes. Financial Stability, durable beautiful cedar logs and a visit to Maine to see the commitment to building and manufacturing using true "green" technology and techniques are but a few of the many reasons that Katahdin is the perfect 'fit' for us.
